Filler Friday

Looks like I'm going to beat Davin and Scott to Filler Friday.

First, I have a post up at The Secret Archives of the Alliterati today. About boring blogs. Thanks, Scott, for the inspiration on that.

Second, Donna, one of our faithful readers, did an interesting response post to Scott's blog thoughts yesterday. Check it out here: Specific Intent

Third, I love spring. It has been raining here for two days, and it's lovely. This is my favorite part. I may sneak outside with my camera and take some pictures of flowers sprinkled with all that rainwater. Of course, when the rain turns to snow, that's not so fun. Still, great pictures. Funny how that works!

Fourth, I just reached 16,000 words on my fantasy novella, and I'm excited about that! My guess is it will land about 30,000 words total, so I'm over halfway there.

What's your favorite breakfast?

  1. Eggs Benedict. Also, you cheat by having actual content and thought-provokingness on Filler Friday.

  2. I did that last week, and today my brain is not functioning much.

  3. I've never had Eggs Benedict...is that a crime?

  4. Oh, I didn't do that last week. See, my brain's not here. Didn't I do that awhile ago? Oh well.

  5. I've never had eggs benedict either. Usual breakfast: two cups of tea. Favorite breakfast: A bacon sandwich on toast with french dressing.

  6. Amy: That's an interesting breakfast! I love breakfast, and lately I've been loving cereal, which is strange. I didn't eat cereal for years, and now I can't get enough of it. I also love French toast. Yum! But I may try making Eggs Benedict sometime to see why Scott loves it so.

  7. Michelle: Hollandaise sauce. It makes everything taste like heaven. Hollandaise sauce is mostly egg yolk and butter, so if you don't love eggs, you probably won't like eggs Benedict.

If you don't like ham (or Canadian bacon), you can have eggs Florentine, which substitutes fresh spinach for the meat.

Another excellent (and fattening) breakfast I like is toasted English crumpet with basil pesto, sliced tomato and fresh Parmesan cheese. With a cup of Irish Breakfast tea.

  8. Can I come stay at your house, Scott? I LOVE eggs, so I'm sure I'd love Eggs Benedict.

  9. Workdays: Bagel with cream cheese and sliced ham.

Weekends: Soft-scrambled eggs on toast (or a bagel) with cheese and sliced ham.

At the diner: Corned-beef hash and cheese omelette. (Mmmmm....)

  13. I love breakfast of all sorts. I could eat breakfast food for every meal of the day. But, my favorite is probably eggs and biscuits and gravy and sausage and hashbrowns, all together. Pancakes are good too.

  14. sbjames: Yes, we must take into account the making of the breakfast!

Davin: So how did the move go? I'll bet you'd like some pancakes now?

Davin: You need to come here for breakfast. The James Browns are the bestest.
