Friday Fille...

Phew! I'm too tired to even write the "r" in Friday Filler. It has been an exciting week here, and thank you to everyone who has supported the anthology, either through taking part it the contest, contributing, cheering us on, advertising, buying a copy, helping us run the contest (Becca) or even just saying hi. I think all three of us are really just blown away by how much everyone is willing to let us have so much fun.

We're already talking about what we're going to do for Anthology #3. We're so excited about it, we might just play along this time and include our own stories tucked away in the back somewhere. Is that selfish of us?

We were all pretty exhausted by the time we got the book out. Michelle, who always works especially hard on these things, deserved a round of applesauce.

And, I wanted to apologize to Yvonne because it did turn out that we spelled her last name wrong in the table of contents. We're really sorry, Yvonne. I'm glad that your name is correct in front of your story though!

So, it's Friday and on Friday anything goes. Someone entertain us!

  1. Yay! We can take a breather and move on to the next anthology in a few months. I'm pretty excited about that. :)

    Congrats to all the authors!

  2. Michelle, it's 10:30 am and you need a nap? Did you sleep last night???

  3. Yeah, I slept, but I woke up way, way early for some reason, and then I worked out, and now I'm tired. Go figure.

  4. Okay, those are better excuses than lack of sleep due to overworking. Nap approved.

  5. That would be great- if you included your stories in there too!

I can't wait to hear what you guys have in mind for Anthology #3 (I love the sound of 'Variations on a theme')

  6. Wow, Lavanya, you have a good memory. When we did we last talk about Variations on a Theme?

  7. Davin, don't kill me, but I put it up on the Anthology site that that's what we might be doing. I didn't say what it is, just the title. :)

  8. Ooh, you're really testing me today. You're lucky I don't drive in the snow!

  11. Hurray for another great anthology.

Michelle, Domey is very scary. Have you seen him with his cheeks all puffed out? S-c-a-r-y, I tell ya.

Theme and variations sounds like it holds lots of possibilities. And of course you should be selfish and include your works in there.

Note to self: no more excuses. Must participate this time around.

  12. Yat-Yee, we'd love if you end up participating, but no pressure. These contests aren't for everyone. I know at least one person thought Notes was a pretty boring concept.

  13. Boring? Really? No, I actually LOVE the concept, as I have mentioned before. Trust for a writer, or anyone for that matter, is an unbelievable gift. You guys are doing some good to many people's souls here.

My problem was 1)disorganization and (2) feeling slightly overwhelmed by the open concept. Now if I really hunkered down, I would have been able to make myself overcome this small obstacle, but I didn't because I was chicken.

But this disorganized chicken is slowly getting a makeover, and hopefully by the time you three recover, I'll be ready.

  14. Well, going by what the three of us have discussed so far, Variations on a Theme will have much more structure. To break out of the rules (which we hope you do) you'll need some mad martial arts skillz.

  15. You all worked so hard for the anthology- great job! Hmm entertain you...lets see--snoops through kid jokes- ah! This will do

"why did the sword swallower eat pins and needles?
-because he was on a diet"

  16. Summer, I love those types of jokes! They make my brain nice and soft and relaxed. :)

  17. You guys did a wonderful job on this (except for that pesky table of contents!)and I think you should definitely play along next time. Any anthology could only be made stronger by the inclusion of your own work. Apologies accepted, Domey. You are very considerate. As you pointed out, the name in front of the story is what really matters. I had someone tell me this anthology reminded them of The Sun. I think that's a huge compliment for everyone involved.
